Some people have asked me where I got the name, MagnifyU Photography. Why not “Chrissy Katina Photography” or something like that….. I chose “MagnifyU Photography” to display the purpose of my company…. to “Magnify God in my work”. He is the reason the sunsets are beautiful, He is the reason I have eyes to see through the camera I hold. He is the maker of the “natural light” that I so love in my pictures. My goal is to Magnify God through photography and this last couple made that pretty easy to accomplish on their wedding day!
I was so honored to be able to experience Patrick and Lovella’s wedding from behind the lens. My main thoughts that day?? Wow-what a couple….what a family…what a perfect day! Patrick’s mother and father came on a The Katinas and Kuzins cruise with us this past January (side note- if you would like to join us next year, we are going to the Bahamas! Click here to find out more info. It is ALWAYS a blast!). It was there on the last cruise that they asked me if I would be willing to photograph their son’s wedding in California and I thought about it….(hmmm…Weekend away from the kiddos, doing something I love for amazing people in beautiful, sunny California…. ABSOLUTELY! 🙂
I’m so glad I went! From start to finish, this wedding was about one thing…family. There were so many amazing moments, I found myself in tears many times. Not only were they family focused- They were God focused…not just in the ceremony, but from beginning to end. I am always inspired in a whole different way when this is the case. Every moment captured illuminated this and it’s definitely not because of anything I did- it was God shining through them. LOVED IT!
On top of all of that, Lovella was a STUNNING bride, from the inside out….I loved how she embroidered her wedding date inside her dress. Isn’t that a a neat idea?
The ceremony was filled with great moments. There was plenty of filipino tradition incorporated- The cord and the veil was really special….
They celebrated at the reception with lots of food, fun, fellowship and once again-several beautiful family moments. One highlight was the traditional Filipino “Money Dance” where everyone lined up and paid a donation to dance in the circle with the bride- it was great fun & the bride and groom made some extra cash for their honeymoon! 🙂
All in all- I was so honored to be a part of this wedding. I am so glad they chose MagnifyU for their wedding pictures!! Thanks Patrick and Lovella- Congratulations!!
